LokSound 4.0 OEM Sounds

Here you can find project files for our LokSound V4.0 decoders that are made for certain, selected locomotives from various manufacturers. Our decoders in combination with these files are either factory-preinstalled or the locomotive was designed "sound friendly" for the usage of our decoders. Please use the latest LokProgrammer Software V4 to download these files to the decoder.

If you already know the ESU project ID (5-digit code), simply enter it in the search field.

Steam locomotive class Hh of the Royal Württembergian State Railroad, Type 0-10-0

The main load of freight traffic of the Königlich Württembergische Staats-Eisenbahnen (K.W.St.E.) was carried by the three-coupled class F and Fc freight locomotives. There were only a few five-coupled class G Klose locomotives which were used particularly for steep inclinations.

The increase in freight traffic meant that freight trains had to be coupled more frequently to two locomotives. This however was very uneconomical and the K.W.St.E. wanted to produce a freight locomotive which could take twice as much traction power as a class Fc locomotive. The result was the class H five-coupled freight locomotive. In 1905 and 1909 a total of 8 of these saturated steam interlocking locomotives were put into service. These locomotives were 75% more powerful than the Fc class ones. In 1909, class H was updated to a superheated steam locomotive of class Hh. The boiler was redesigned and a twin engine was used instead of the compound engine. The new design proved to be worthwhile, in comparison to the saturated steam locomotives the performance levels could now be increased by 7%, whilst at the same time reducing the fuel and water consumption.

From 1909 to 1920, 28 saturated steam locomotives were put into service, all of which were manufactured at the machine factory in Esslingen. These locomotives were desperately required by the traction haulage service in order to pull the extremely heavy freight trains. The first machines arrived in the machine disctrict in Stuttgart, then later in Ulm. In both regions they were primarily used on the main Bretten–Stuttgart–Ulm route.

  •   KkStB 178

Derived from the small locos with eight coupled wheels and compound drive („Verbundtriebwerk“) developed by Karl Gölsdorf for the Schneeberg railway in 1898, 211 machines of the 178 series were built until 1924. All locos were equipped with the typical funnel called „Kobelschornstein“, but differed slightly in weight because of differently large storage tanks.

  •   ÖBB Talent

Electric Railcar ÖBB Talent BR 4024

The 140 km/h fast electric motor coaches of the Talent series also run in the suburban traffic of the greater Linz region (Austria). The trains delivered by Bombardier to the ÖBB in 2007 have proven to be worthwhile but many passengers bemoan the loss of the old coaches due to their more comfortable seats and better riding comfort. In the meantime, ÖBB have responded to some points of criticism. For example, the noise of heating and air-conditioning systems has been turned down; in addition, arm rests and also somewhat softer seats have been installed.

  •   RhB ABe 8/12

In 2010, a new era started with the year´s summer timetable among RhB´s rolling stock: the first 15 copies of the three-part “Allegra” dual-voltage railcars, ordered from Stadler, replaced some of the locomotives which had seen better days.
The powerful and air-conditioned ABe 4/8 3501-3515 can be either used on the main line´s AC system or the DC-powered “Bernina” line.
With further procurements, the operational concept of locomotive-drawn trains has changed with the exception of the Albula line and “GEX” trains in favour of a mainly covering by multi-part new built railcars.

  •   RhB G 4/5

In the early 1900s narrow gauge railway RhB of Switzerland needed stronger locos. Swiss locomotive manufacturer SLM Winterthur built 29 samples of 2-4-0 locos G 4/5. The locos deliver 800 HP and reach a maximum speed of 45 km/h. After electrification of the whole rail net RhB sold or scrapped the locos except for two samples that rest in Switzerland for snow clearance duty or for railfan trains.
