The color codes are according to the NMRA DCC standard which is used for all ESU decoder. If you want to connect a Märklin decoder to the tester please check the following table:
Description Märklin Color DCC (ESU) Color AC: Center Rail
DC: Right RailRed Red AC: Rails (left or right)

Yes, should work with no problems. Please check the Märklin® color codes, they are different from the DCC standard.
